This Saturday the 28th starting at 8:30 pm local time is Earth Hour. Be part of this historic event.
The World Wildlife Fund is asking individuals, businesses, governments and organizations around the world to turn off their lights for one hour – Earth Hour – to make a global statement of concern about climate change and to demonstrate commitment to finding solutions. The following story about green alternatives being developed in York’s school lunch program appeared on WCSH Channel 6 this week.
YORK (NEWS CENTER) – There could soon be healtheir options on the school lunch menus in Kittery and York.
At the Coastal Ridge Elementary School in York students do have some healthy options inlcuding a salad bar.
Doris Demers wants to expand those options.
Instead of eating corn shipped in from across the country, she’d like to see students eating corn from a farm down the street.
