Annual Meeting this Tuesday 7pm + School Solar Project

Happy New Year Everyone!

It is hard to believe 2012 is gone – and a new year is well under way.

We will be holding our annual meeting this Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 7pm in the library.

We will review finances and discuss future projects this upcoming year.  We will also nominate officers for 1 year terms.  Those nominations are:

1. Eric Hopkins, Chairman
2. Wayne Boardman, Co-Chairman
3. Megan Segalla, Treasurer

We are looking for a secretary to take minutes and post them to our website.  The commitment is quite minimal – please let me know if you would be interested. As many of you know, I have been working on a project to bring a renewable energy project to one of York’s schools for the last 8 months.  This project is getting closer and closer to a reality – but many details are still to be determined at this point, so I can’t get into a lot of specifics yet. However, the crux of the idea is simple.  Raise the money to install an 8.75KW photovoltaic array – by having students selling them one small piece at a time.

I’ve been working with local graphic designer, Karen O’Brien-Hay from Times-Four  to develop the concept of an 8.5×11 inch laminated “mock solar panel” that can go home with students.  The results are below:

I will share more details as time goes on.  It is very exciting. If you haven’t been to a meeting in awhile – think about coming by.  We’d love to see you.
