The 2009 Energy & Climate Fair
May 2, 2009 at York Middle School
The Purpose of the York Energy and Climate Day was to bring citizens, business people, non-profit representatives and local government officials together to expand our understanding and appreciation of the energy and climate challenges and opportunities we face as a community and to generate opportunities for individual and collective responses. We were able to attract families and a broad cross-section of people from York and the surrounding communities.
The event was held from 8:30 to 12:30 on May 2nd at the York Middle School. There were vendors promoting energy and climate related products and services; seminars and workshops on related topics; presentations from student projects; and a keynote speaker (John Kerry the Director of the Governor’s Office of Energy Independence and Security). Participants had the opportunity to meet and network with local people who share common interests and passion for expanding our efforts to become more energy independent and to reduce our impact on our planet’s climate. We are grateful for sponsorship from several local and regional businesses.
A special thanks to Graystone Builders and York Hospital for help in sponsoring the event.
